Dear DAF members, ÖGF members, colleagues!
“DAF meets ÖGF”. This is the motto of the annual congress of both foot societies in 2024. For the first time, it will take place together in beautiful Vienna. We warmly invite you to visit Vienna as a place of medical historical importance from May 23rd to 25th, 2024. The joint congress shows the solidarity and friendship that has been cultivated over the years across national borders and the ongoing exchange in the field of foot surgery.
Vienna is the historic gateway to the Balkans, so we are pleased to have gained BAFAS (Balkan Foot and Ankle Society) as a partner society and look forward to exchanging knowledge far beyond the country’s borders.
As part of the scientific program, we will put together a comprehensive program of current topics in the area of foot and ankle.
Hallux valgus will be a key topic and will offer interesting and innovative lectures on this topic outside the mainstream. We also focus on joint preservation and modern ankle prosthetics with the possibilities and limitations of patient-specific implantation techniques. Another focus will be postoperative management with rehabilitation, especially return to activity – sport – competition and also infiltration therapies on the foot.
We want to give you the opportunity to prepare intensively in focused courses – building on the successful formats of previous years. This time the topics chosen were OSG osteoarthritis, MIS forefoot surgery and innovative techniques in diagnosis and therapy. This is intended to enable intensive discussion of the topics under the guidance of international specialists.
Young people can find out more about foot and ankle surgery at a parallel event and receive an introduction to our exciting field of activity through the “Young Forum”.
We would be pleased to welcome you to a relaxed “meet and greet” on Thursday as well as the festive evening in a typical “Viennese” setting away from the scientific program and would like to enable a lively exchange with colleagues and international specialists.
